Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
At Happenings Around Me ("we", "our", or "us", accessible at happeningsaroundme.in), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the information you share with us. This Privacy Policy outlines what information we collect, how it is used, and the controls you have over your data when using our event discovery platform.
We employ industry-standard encryption protocols to protect your login credentials and data in transit.
We collect only the essential information required to provide bookmarking and local event recommendations.
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal contact information to third-party data brokers.
1Information We Collect
You can browse and discover events on Happenings Around Me freely without creating an account. When you choose to use personalized features, we collect the following:
- Account Details: When registering with email/password or Google sign-in, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture (if provided via Google). Passwords are securely hashed and encrypted before storage; we never store or view raw passwords.
- Saved Events: Events you bookmark to your personal profile for convenient tracking.
- Location Preferences: With your permission, we use your device's approximate location or manually selected city to show events happening near you and calculate distance to venues.
2Cookies & Device Preferences
We use cookies and browser local storage to deliver a seamless user experience. This allows our website to remember your preferences—such as your selected city and preferred viewing layout—locally on your device without repeatedly asking for them.
You can control or delete cookies and clear local storage data at any time through your browser settings. Note that disabling these features may affect how certain preference settings are preserved between visits.
3Analytics, Advertising & Third-Party Services
A. Website Analytics
We use aggregated, anonymized web analytics to measure platform performance, diagnose technical errors, and understand traffic trends. This data helps us improve site speed and usability and cannot be used to personally identify you.
B. Advertising & Cookies
We display advertisements via Google AdSense to keep Happenings Around Me free. Google uses cookies to serve relevant ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can customize your preferences or opt out of personalized advertising at any time by visiting Google Ad Settings.
C. External Ticketing & Venue Links
Our event listings may include direct links to external ticketing portals (such as BookMyShow, District, or organizer pages) and venue directions via Google Maps. When navigating to third-party services, your interactions are governed by their respective privacy policies and terms of service.
4Data Security & Retention
We implement industry-standard technical safeguards, including HTTPS and encrypted communication channels, to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
We retain account data only for as long as your account remains active. If you choose to delete your account, your personal profile and saved events will be permanently removed from our systems.
5Your Privacy Controls
- Profile Updates: You can update your display name at any time directly through your Profile page.
- Location Permissions: You can enable, disable, or revoke browser location access at any time through your device or browser settings.
- Account Deletion: If you wish to delete your account and associated data, you can contact us and we will fulfill your request promptly.
6Children's Privacy
Happenings Around Me is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe that a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take appropriate steps to remove the data.
